1. Who we are
Cleanny ("we", "us", "our") provides cleaning services across Greater London and surrounding areas. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide to us. For any privacy question, contact us at info@cleanny.co.uk, on 07587 364981, or at 344-354 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1X 8BP.
This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2. What we collect
- Contact & booking details: your name, email address, phone number, service address and postcode, and the details of the service you book.
- Payment information: when you pay by card, your payment is processed securely by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive confirmation of payment but do not see or store your full card number.
- Communications: messages, enquiries and feedback you send us, and notes relevant to your booking.
- Job applicants: if you apply to join our team, we collect the information you provide in the application (such as contact details, right-to-work and self-employment details, experience and references) to assess your application.
- Website & technical data: basic information such as your device and usage of our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
3. How we use your information
- To provide, arrange and manage your cleaning service and bookings.
- To take payment and send you confirmations, invoices and receipts.
- To communicate with you about your booking and respond to enquiries.
- To assess and process applications from people who want to clean with us.
- To improve our services, handle complaints, and keep proper business records.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
4. Our legal bases
- Contract — to provide the service you have booked.
- Legitimate interests — to run and improve our business, keep records, prevent fraud and communicate with you about your service.
- Legal obligation — where we are required to keep or share information by law (for example tax records).
- Consent — where you have given it, for example for optional marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Who we share it with
- Our cleaning professionals — the details they need to carry out your booking (such as your name, address and service details).
- Service providers — trusted partners who help us operate, such as our payment provider (Stripe) and our email delivery provider. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
- Authorities and advisers — where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
7. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes above — to provide your service, meet legal and accounting requirements, and handle any queries or disputes. Where we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymise it. Unsuccessful job applications are kept only for a limited period unless you ask us to keep your details on file.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
- ask for a copy of certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@cleanny.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to help first.
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Payment card details are handled securely by our payment provider and are not stored on our systems.
10. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we take steps to ensure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards as required by UK data protection law.
11. Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes & contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. For any questions or requests, contact us at info@cleanny.co.uk, on 07587 364981, or at 344-354 Gray's Inn Road, London WC1X 8BP.
